Donegal Airport named second most scenic landing in the world
Donegal Airport has been voted second most scenic landing.
Ireland’s wild north has received a lot of much-deserved attention in recent months. Most recently, Donegal Airport was voted the second most scenic landing in the world in a poll of 122 airports worldwide. The poll saw over 8,000 members of the public vote on a shortlist chosen by a panel of international travel experts, with 122 airports nominated.
Donegal started the year on a high on the back of National Geographic Traveller naming the county the “coolest place on the planet” to visit. Donegal’s recent fame has been enhanced by the presence of Star Wars using the county’s natural wilderness to film scenes for the upcoming installment; Episode VIII.
