If you’re looking for heat, July and August are often the hottest months of the year for Greece. For those who would prefer cooler temperatures, going in late Spring or early Fall is your best bet for comfortable yet warm temperatures. Going in the Winter for better prices is also an option, but may result in encountering more rainfall.
Paxos and Antipaxos are two Greek islands known for being quieter. They’re also easy to get to by boat from other islands, so stopping off here for a day trip or a few nights is a no brainer if you want some solitude. Other options include Ithaca, Symi, and Syros for a quaint feel and beautiful views.
While many places in the main cities in Greece will accept card, it is common knowledge that smaller cafes, restaurants, street vendors and other small businesses accept cash only. It’s best to have a combination of cash and cards with you so that you are well prepared. As always, when you are travelling be mindful of pickpockets.
